Hi friends! It’s me, Camryn.
I had started my blog with the intension of sharing my experience working in Kings Canyon National Park through A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP). My summer has come to an end, but you can still find the pictures and blog posts of my sweet memories from my time at the park.
For three months this summer, I lived among the giant sequoias- the largest trees on earth (hence the name of this blog). But since departing the park, the name of my blog can still stand- just in a metaphorical sense. Because while I no longer stand beneath the shade of a Giant Sequoia tree, there will still be giants to face. We all go through difficulties; we all struggle with our own giants. But our Goliaths are opportunities to rely on God, who is the ultimate giant slayer.
You also hear of these “faith giants” in the Bible. People like Esther and David and Abraham and Ruth. Ordinary people who God used for extraordinary things. They had faith in a God who would exceed their expectation, and thus are called the Bible giants of faith. The Lord takes the ordinary, the simple beginnings, and moves in ways we would never imagine. It is my prayer that I would have the faith like these believers to trust in God to work through my imperfect, little being.
Through a time of change, both this summer and going to college, I think it is important to share struggles, to share the joy and the pain that come with change. Because if the “real” is not shared, we get this false idea of the lives people are living. So through this little piece of the internet that I now own, I hope to do just that. To share the real. And I hope you can take comfort in knowing that we all go through challenges and we all have our sunshine days. And that we also have a God who is above all of it and has a great plan.
Peace to you.
